This summer, Sun Ae is artist-in-residence at the original Spode Factory in Stoke-On-Trent, and Burslem School of Art. During her two weeks there she is developing a limited-edition range of tableware that will be inspired by narratives of porcelain flowermaking in the region. An event, Pottery // Poetry brings together new work from the artists' distinct practices, as well as readings from local writers who have been exploring the fractured, fractal story of the Portland Vase through workshops at the art school. Her collaborators in the project are writer Holly Corfield-Carr and sculptor David Booth.
